Olivia “Livvy” Dunne is a college athlete at Louisiana State University who has also amassed 8 million followers across her social media accounts.
Recently the name of the athlete was used in the article of The New York Times, written by Kurt Streeter, the writer highlighted Dunne’s financial success and said “the woman will be sold.”
Following the Nov. 8 news, Dunne took to his Instagram account to share his thoughts on Streeter’s words.
On Wednesday, he posted a photo of himself wearing a black LSU jersey and standing next to a balance beam. Dunne’s photo was captioned: “@nytimes is this too much?”

In the NYT article, Dunne said he earns seven figures as a journalist for sponsored projects and his online popularity.
“Dunne, a petite blonde with a bright smile and an athlete’s body, paid off big by giving her an online following of eight million on Instagram and TikTok,” Streeter said. “… the media where he promotes advocacy … alongside videos of him lip syncing to popular songs or dancing.”
As of July 2021, the NCAA will allow student-athletes to profit from their names, likenesses and likenesses being used.
