The Council also recently announced the release of global standards for the pest management industry. Title A Global Framework for Pest Management StandardsThis document serves as a guide throughout the globe and gives members of the Global Coalition a tool that can be used to promote legislation in their countries and professionalize the pest management industry worldwide.

“We are working to develop the standards with colleagues who we believe represent our industry worldwide,” Ponjoan, who also served on the task force, said in the release. “We also include what companies need to achieve to follow this path. The final point is to ensure that only professionals work in our industry and that regulators, customers and the general public see us all as true technicians professionals and technical directors, and see companies that provide pest management services as professional companies.
