The 2022 First Indian Businesswoman in Asia’s Power Businesswomen List 34 years old Ghazal separateCo-founder of Honasa Consumer, which hosts the popular brand Mamaearth. Ghazal Alagher’s company became a unicorn in January after closing a $52 million funding round led by Sequoia Capital India, valuing it at $1.2 billion. Ghazal Alag started the Gurgaon-based company in 2016 with her husband Varun Singh, who is the CEO.

The company Honasa Consumer recently doubled its revenue last fiscal to $121 million (about Rs. 10 billion) through online and in-store sales.

Soma Mondal, the chairperson of the 2022 Power Business Women in Asia, is the second Indian businesswoman. Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), the first chair of the state-run company. Soma Mondal is not only the first woman executive director of SAIL, she is also the first woman chairman of the company. A 1984 graduate in electrical engineering from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, he has over 35 years of experience in the metal industry.

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) produced 18.733 million tonnes of hot metal and 17.366 million tonnes of crude steel in 2021-22, its best ever production performance.

The company’s turnover of Rs 1.03 lakh crore in 2021-22 is a significant increase of over 50 per cent over the previous best turnover of Rs 68,452 crore achieved in 2020-21.
