The court issued notice on Yadav’s plea in April and in May the police submitted that Yadav lived in Gurgaon so the complaint was transferred to Gurgaon as per the SOP.

The petitioner contended that the complaint should be transferred to Delhi where he practices law.

After the police informed the court that the FIR has now been registered in Delhi, the court observed that the petitioner’s complaint was satisfied.

More than a year after the Delhi Police told the Delhi High Court that complaints filed on the National Cyber ​​Police portal are determined based on the complainant’s address, the police recently registered an FIR on a Gurgaon resident’s complaint that someone had created a fake Facebook account in his name.

The submission was made in a petition filed before a bench of Justice Jasmeet Singh against the decision of the complainant (one Pankaj Yadav who is a practicing lawyer) to transfer his cyber crime case from Delhi to Haryana.

In a report submitted to the court, the SHO of Tilak Marg police station said that an FIR has been registered in Delhi regarding the complaint and an investigation will be conducted.

In February 2021, Yadav filed a complaint on a cybercrime portal that someone had created a Facebook account in his name and was asking people for money. He also said that impersonators were using his photos and other details as well.
