5G tablet shipments in India grew 61% in Q3, with Samsung leading the way | Tech Reddy

India’s tablet market grew 22 percent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) in the September quarter, with shipments of 5G-capable tablets up 61 percent, a new report said on Monday.

According to CMR’s “Tablet PC Market Report”, Samsung (28 percent), Lenovo (26 percent) and Apple (19 percent) took the top three positions in the tablet market in the 3rd quarter.

“Shipments of 5G tablets increased in Q3 2022. This was prompted by the recent 5G auctions and the beginning of the 5G era. The growth of 5G tablets is in line with trends seen in the 5G smartphone market,” said Menka Kumari, analyst at CMR Industry Intelligence Group (IIG).

Shipments of tablets with an 8-inch display accounted for 43 percent of total shipments in the domestic market.

Samsung Tab A8 (Wi-Fi + 4G) and Tab A7 Lite (Wi-Fi + 4G) had 25% and 18% market share respectively. Samsung shipments grew 83% QoQ in the third quarter.

The Lenovo Tab M8 (HD) (Wi-Fi+4G) and Lenovo Tab M8 (HD) (Wi-Fi) series, mainly in the Value for Money (Rs. 7,000) tablet category, had a market share of 32 percent and 17 percent respectively. -25,000 soms) segment.

CMR said that tablet PC shipments will grow by 10-15 percent in 2022.

“Going forward, we see 5G-enabled tablets to underline market growth, particularly in the education, healthcare, hospitality and manufacturing segments,” Menka said.
