During the course of the trial, most of the witnesses became hostile. However, the court of Additional Sessions Judge, Panipat, Ajay K Sharma, relied on circumstantial evidence, supported by police investigation and medical and forensic evidence, to convict and sentence Raju.
“There is credible evidence which proves the following circumstances, which is sufficient to prove that there is a complete chain of circumstantial evidence which proves that the accused should be held responsible for the death,” the court said in its order.
