In a major reshuffle, 28 police inspectors attached to various police stations (PS) and specialized units have received transfer and posting orders, which the department claims is ‘routine’.

Of the total, PI Theron D’Costa, who headed a special team of Goa police, was transferred to Colva PS to investigate the death of BJP leader Sonali Phogat in Haryana, Gurgaon and Noida.

Whereas, Chetan Saulekar has replaced PI Brendan D’Souza to take charge of the Panaji Traffic Cell, D’Souza has been posted to the State Police Control Room (SPCR), while Ninad Deulkar and Mahesh Kerkar have been transferred to the newly formed Mopa Police Station and Mopa Traffic Cell (TC ) respectively.

Among other transfers, Filomeno Costa has been transferred to Traffic Cell, Colva, Tulshidas Naik to Margao Town Police Station, Deendra Naik to Fatorda PS, Girendra Naik to Security Unit, Panaji, Vijayanath Kavlekar to TC, Karchorem and Shitakant Naik to Security Unit. , Panaji.

Sachin Narvekar has been posted at TC, Calangute while Raghoba Kamat and Yogesh Sawant have been posted at Security Unit, Panaji (CM Security).

Similarly, Virendra Veluskar has been shifted to CB Ribandar, Biswajit Chodankar to TC, Parnem; Alvito Rodriguez to Murmugao PS, Videsh Pilgaonkar to Tiracol Coastal Security PS, Kapil Nayak to Vasco PS, John Fernandes to PTS Valpoi, Milind Bhuimba to Saligao PS, Sachin Lokre to Crime Reader, PHQ Panaji, and Vinayak Patil to Airport Patil to Doublem PS. Arjun Sangodkar has been assigned at SB Center Vasco, Narayan Chimulkar at CB Ribandar, Ravindra Desai at Maina Kurtorim PS, Mohan Gowde at TEC Panaji and Mangesh Volvoikar ACB, vigilance.

Four PIKs (Armed Police) have been transferred and posted in a separate order. They include Nilesh Shirodkar and Saroj Divkar at the Tourist Unit and Damodar Naik and Ramakrishna Parab from the IRB Camp, Ribandar.

Department officials claim that the transfers are routine, though they come ahead of the peak tourist season and year-end festivities.
