Gurugram: MCG has so far issued 221 challans amounting to Rs 24.4 lakh for violations. Graded Response Action Plan (Grapp) guidelines which came into force on 1 October. Maximum number of fines were issued for keeping construction materials exposed as 99 people were fined Rs 10.2 lakh.
As construction is also prohibited, the civic body has issued 38 challans totaling Rs 2.7 lakh for violating rules, 34 challans worth Rs 6.3 lakh and 32 challans for unauthorized dumping of construction and demolition (C&D) waste. 46,500 invoice for tandoor and coal burning.
“The MCG has recently constituted a dust control and management cell to ensure that steps are implemented to tackle air pollution. Our teams are sprinkling recycled water on the roads and issuing challans continuously for GRAP violations. Besides, the teams are also mechanically sweeping the roads regularly,” said SS RohillaMCG spokesperson.
