16-year-old confesses on Instagram to fatal shooting, Pennsylvania police say | Tech Reddy

A Pennsylvania teenager has been charged with murder after allegedly confessing on Instagram to fatally shooting another child, police said.

The Bensalem Police Department received a 911 call Friday afternoon about a possible homicide, with the caller sharing an Instagram video message he received from a friend, according to reports. the police.

During the conversation, the teenager said he had “killed someone” before turning the camera and showing the man’s legs and feet covered in blood, police said. He asked for help in disposing of the body, police said.

The dispatcher told police the teenager who posted the message was sitting at the top of the Ridge trailer park in Bensalem, the release said. When officers arrived, the teenager ran from the back of the truck and was later arrested about a mile away at Newport Mews Drive and Groton Drive, police said.

Officers who entered the vehicle found a girl on the bathroom floor dead from a gunshot wound, authorities said. “Extensive measures” were taken to clean up the damaged area, investigators said.

The identity and age of the victim have not been released, other than that he is a juvenile.

The suspect, a 16-year-old, is charged as an adult with felony murder, possessing criminal tools and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, police said.

He appeared in a preliminary hearing Friday night where he did not post bail, according to online court records. It’s unclear if he was involved in an application.

He is being held at the Edison Juvenile Detention Center, police said. His trial is scheduled for Dec. 7, according to online records.

An attorney for the juvenile is not listed in online court records. Instagram did not immediately respond to ABC News’ request for comment.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the case to call the Bensalem Police Department.
